SolarWinds SCP Network Performance Monitor (NPM) Practice Test

NetPath is used to map the end-to-end WAN path between a source and a destination and to reveal how latency varies across that route. It probes the network path and shows each hop along the way, including latency, potential packet loss, and where delays occur. This path-wide view helps you see which segment or device is introducing latency, making it easier to troubleshoot performance issues for applications that traverse multiple networks, such as across WAN links or the Internet.

It’s not limited to LAN segments, so the option stating a LAN-only focus isn’t accurate. NetPath isn’t deprecated in current SolarWinds NPM implementations, and it doesn’t replace IP SLA; rather, it complements IP SLA by providing a topology view and hop-by-hop performance data while IP SLA continues to measure end-to-end metrics between endpoints.
